The function of community-based navigation in supportive care for historically underrepresented cancer survivors remains largely unknown. Semi-structured interviews with Black and Latina cancer survivors (n=10) and navigators (n=4) from a community-based organization serving low-income women were analyzed qualitatively, specifically using content analysis.
A longitudinal study of supportive care, employing content analysis, uncovered six themes relating to the experience before and after navigator assistance. The experience of navigating supportive care alone is complicated by a) both internal and external pressures; b) a relentless fight for mere survival; c) feelings of intense overwhelm and distress. The Community Navigator's supportive care emphasized trust-building and safety, enabling multi-faceted navigator-assisted care management, and successfully alleviating distress.

The development of breast cancer, a complex tumorigenic process, is significantly impacted by numerous factors, with abnormal gene expression emerging as a key event.
